What is a Maintaining Dignity Dining Scarf?

A Maintaining Dignity Dining Scarf is a beautifully designed accessory which is worn at mealtimes to protect everyday clothing from being soiled with food or fluids.

Our Dining Scarves are a one-size-fits-all piece of clothing that is created from food- and fluid- resistant fabric, covering the upper and lower garmets, thus protecting the entire outfit.

A wide range of colours and patterns are available to suit all genders.

Why choose a Dining Scarf?

"...empowering residents to dine with dignity ensuring a safe and enjoyable mealtime experience is as important as providing them with nutrition and hydration to maintain good health and quality of life..."

Aged Care Safety and Quality Commission, Resource for Standard 6

Most facilities and organisations use clothing protectors similar to bibs - it is our belief that Maintaining Dignity DIning Scarves provide a more dignified and age-appropriate choice to protect the clothing of the individual - whether dining at home, at a restaurant, or in a residential facility.

Maintaining Dignity Dining Scarves give choice - individuals may pick based on a favourite flower, colour or shade which matches their outfit for the day.

Maintaining Dignity Dining Scarves provide dignity - individuals who may wander away from the dining table during or after a meal service without removing their protector will just look like they are wearing a beautiful item of clothing - not a bib, as would have previously been the case.

Maintaining Dignity Dining Scarves provide full coverage of clothing, thus reducing the need to change clothing after meals. This means less impact on the individual, less staff / carer time in needing to change individuals unnecessarily - and a reduction in laundry which is good not only for the organisation but also the environment.
